ISSTC 2026 Successfully Concludes in Qingdao, Shandong
The 5th International Symposium on Sensor Technology and Control (ISSTC 2026) was held in Qingdao, Shandong,
from October 16 to 18, 2026. The main venue session took place on October 17 at the Holiday Inn Express Qingdao West Coast Golden Beach.
Held in a hybrid format combining online and offline participation, the symposium focused on exchanges in fields
such as sensor technology, control science, and control engineering, and featured three keynote reports, twelve oral presentations, and poster displays.

The opening ceremony was chaired by Prof. Yang Zhao of Harbin Institute of Technology, Weihai.
On behalf of the conference organizing committee, Prof. Yang Zhao welcomed and thanked the attending experts, scholars, and colleagues,
and expressed the hope that participants would fully share research results and engage in in-depth academic exchanges through keynote reports, oral presentations, and poster displays,
so as to further promote academic cooperation and industry exchange.
After the opening ceremony, on-site guests and online participants took group photos separately.

During the keynote report session, three experts shared their insights on frontier directions including photoacoustic detection, digital holographic imaging, and cross-medium communication.
Prof. Yang Zhao from Harbin Institute of Technology, Weihai, delivered a report entitled “Photoacoustic Technology: An Exploration from Material Testing to Cross-Medium Communication,” introducing research progress in photoacoustic technology for material testing and air–sea cross-medium communication.
Prof. Mingguang Shan from Harbin Engineering University presented “Dual-Wavelength Digital Holography for Deep Microstructure Imaging and Measurement,” sharing research results on precision measurement of three-dimensional microstructures.
Senior Engineer Yiguang Yang from Laoshan Laboratory delivered “Progress in Laser-Induced Acoustic Bidirectional Communication Across the Air–Sea Interface,” introducing technical advances in laser-induced acoustic and underwater bidirectional information transmission.

On the afternoon of October 17, the oral presentation session continued.
Presenters from the Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Qingdao University of Science and Technology;
Liaoning Technical University; Shanghai Maritime University; Shandong University of Science and Technology;
and Changchun University of Science and Technology shared research findings on topics
such as high dynamic range imaging, point cloud semantic segmentation, UAV formation control, multi-sensor fusion perception, and fault diagnosis and predictive control.
The conference also arranged poster displays and tea-break networking sessions, providing participants with opportunities to present research results, discuss technical issues, and exchange research ideas.

This conference focused on frontier research and application needs in the fields of sensor technology and control, providing an academic platform for experts and scholars in related fields to share research achievements and exchange cutting-edge technologies. It further broadened research perspectives, promoted interdisciplinary exchange and cooperation, and injected new vitality into the innovative development and application of achievements in sensor technology and control science.
